The Wreck That Is My Body Clock Made Me Do This

“Admit it, you do not have the patience to watch a full 90-minute fixture.”
Yes na nga! I do not have the patience to watch a full 90-minute fixture. I don’t care if it’s the Milan Derby or the Rome Derby or the World Cup finals. Basta. And no, I will never stop channel-surfing during stoppage [...]

Mad Season

Posted by: Eunice on: April 28, 2004

I miss watching a Gary Valenciano show.
Pardon the quality of the pictures though. I pushed my camera’s zoom to it’s limits so the outcome was quite blurry. I was not able to take a lot of photos though since P insisted on taking video clips rather than stills. Bad boyfriend.

My only decent shot. Fairly decent.

A [...]

Not Exactly Fidel Castro Material

Posted by: Eunice on: April 27, 2004

Three months. Three effin months and I’m moving back to my 24th floor home. Boo.
Aside from the HGTV-worthy interior and the ultra sleek kitchen, there is nothing homey about the place. So maybe it has a good view of the Manila skyline and I can see the Superferry enter Pier 4. But still.

It’s the light. [...]

Hostage Crisis

Posted by: Eunice on: April 27, 2004

Or something like that.

Traffic along Ayala Avenue on a Sunday is like having no traffic at all along EDSA during rush hour. But it’s not everyday someone stands in the corner of Ayala and Paseo de Roxas with a gun in his hands. Tall, blond guy in a pair of khakis and a chequered shirt.
And [...]

Ayrton Senna, You Will Never Be Forgotten

Posted by: Eunice on: April 26, 2004

Jenson Button is on fire! Now this is what we Formula 1 fans were looking for when he first joined the sport. Another potential heir to Schumacher and another young gun destined for F1 greatness. After all the hype that went on when he was signed by Williams in 2000, Jenson finally showed us his [...]

Angelina Jolie May Be A Bit Weird

Posted by: Eunice on: April 25, 2004

But I managed to look past that and appreciate her in Girl, Interrupted.
Anyway, I was browsing through mom’s copy of People’s 30th Anniversary issue when I came across a quotable quote from Hollywood’s own Girl, Interrupted. Something that made me think about life and everything beyond it.
“There’s something about death that is comforting. The thought [...]

Of Kits and William Hung

Posted by: Eunice on: April 23, 2004

The Azzurri, AS Roma and Real Betis have the best kits in the entire soccer galaxy.
Their kits can make Pippo Inzhagi look like Marc Antony (as in J. Lo’s new guy), make Francesco Totti look a lot hunkier than he already is and make Denilson look like he’s worth the record-breaking sum Betis had to [...]

Urgent Phonecall Turns My World Upside Down (Part Deux)

Posted by: Eunice on: April 22, 2004

Mom was like “Oh my! You’re here! You’re here!“
And the woman at the other end was like “I miss you so much! Kadto na di bala bwas!“
And then mom went like “I will gid! Hay friend dugay na ta wala kitaay!“
So now my mother and I will be leaving for Roxas City tomorrow morning and [...]

Urgent Phonecall Turns My World Upside Down

Posted by: Eunice on: April 21, 2004

Although it wouldn’t really turn it upside down if dad isn’t living in Manila, if the caller didn’t ask for our (mom and me) cellphone numbers and if the caller didn’t say that it was an emergency. Turned it out it was from CSB; I have an interview on the 26th so they had to [...]
