Hello, Confucius

Watch me crash and burn.

Slow Start

I feel sluggish. I feel like staying home and sleeping the whole day. This is bad.

I need something to get excited about. A new pair of shoes? A new phone? A visit from Mom, perhaps?

I always feel like this after spending a long time in BCD. I hate feeling this way because it makes me unproductive. This is so bad.

Homesickness sucks.

Halloween Birthday

Mom’s 55th birthday is on the 31st and to celebrate it, we’re planning to throw a Halloween bash. And where better to celebrate a Halloween-themed birthday than in Roxas City. Scary, no?

No Lenten Sacrifices Anymore

Just like in 2005, my family and I will be spending the Holy Week in Roxas City because the Good Friday procession is taking the route that passes by our ancestral home. Before, spending the Holy Week in Roxas felt like one big Lenten Sacrifice because of the absence of modern facilities like internet connection, cable television and malls. Things have changed over time though and now almost every house in our neighborhood has broadband connection!

Late Nights, Quick Bites, Telephone Calls

Marry me a little,
Love me just enough.
Warm and sweet and easy,
Just the simple stuff.
Keep a tender distance
So we’ll both be free.
That’s the way it ought to be.

He makes my heart melt when he quotes Sondheim.

McDonald’s, how I love thee. It’s unhealthy, it’s greasy but it’s oh so yummy. Thank you McDo’s 24-hour delivery for making staying up late worthwhile. No wonder I don’t lose weight.

So I Moved. Again.

There are things about Blogger that I’ll never understand. I thought it would have been a breeze for me when I started using the service again after my domain expired last year. I mean, I have been using it since 2002. I guess I was wrong, I really shouldn’t have stopped using WP. So I guess I’m back to good old reliable WP. Now all I have to think about is how I can salvage my old posts from my domain.

Expired

My domain finally expired last week. Should I get a new one? Or should I stick with Blogger?

I’m going home to Bacolod in a few hours. We’ll be spending our first Christmas in our new home and we’re happy that some of our relatives will be spending it with us. Mom’s brother and his whole family, Dad’s two sisters, my kuya and Jigo… yes, it’s gonna be one fun Christmas.

Jingle Bells

Finals starts on Thursday but I don’t have any exams until Monday next week. So I practically have half of the week off to do some last minute Christmas shopping. There is nothing much on my shopping list but it seems that with every phone call from my mom, something gets added to it. But hey, I’m not complaining because shopping’s fun.

Just like last year, we’re having a pre-Christmas (last year it was post-Christmas) lunch at home with some close family friends and the neighbors. Mom’s thinking of making it a yearly tradition now, some sort of a thanksgiving lunch to end the year. There is nothing more special than spending the holidays with good food and great company. And yes, a bit of booze might help too.

How Many Days Til Christmas?

I’ve been under a lot of stress lately because Finals Week is coming up and papers are piling up. I’m also worried sick because I’ve missed a lot of quizzes because I was sick for two weeks.

I’ve been out of the hospital for a little over a week now but I’m still having nightmares because of all the bloodtests that I had to undergo. If there is one thing I’m scared of, it’s blood.

I got an early Christmas present from the Boy two weeks ago. A DVD of the Les Miserables 10th Anniversary Concert came in the mail. Too bad it came while I was in the hospital which meant that I didn’t get to watch it until last week. All I can say is… wow. A big thank you to P for feeding my Les Mis obsession.

Of iPods, IMAX and other iThings

I’ve been thinking of getting a new iPod since my old one crashed on me two months ago. The colorful new iPod Nano is definitely something I’d like to get my hands on but 4gb is not enough for my mp3 collection. The 8gb Nano is just enough for my mp3s but the only color available is black. The (PRODUCT) Red Nano is hot but I don’t think its available here. Argh. Or maybe I should just wait until next year.

I’m watching Open Season in IMAX on Saturday. With the boy. If you ask me, I’d rather shop for a new pair of shoes. Or a pair of flipflops.

I finally got my hands on NFS: Carbon last night. Playing it on HDTV is the sex. But it’s just not worth it. NFS: Most Wanted is way better than Carbon. If you want great racing games on the 360, get PGR3 and Test Drive Unlimited. Or you can wait for Forza Motorsport 2. Now that will be the sex.

Too much “ORs” in the post. Bad.
